Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate to join our venture capital firm. The Associate will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities, as well as supporting our portfolio companies. This is a partner-track position that requires a deep understanding of markets, industries, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing and Evaluation

• Identify and attract promising startups that align with our investment thesis and strategy
• Build and maintain a strong network of entrepreneurs, co-investors, advisors, and industry experts
• Conduct market research and identify emerging trends and opportunities1
• Evaluate potential investments based on financial projections and risk assessments

Due Diligence and Deal Execution

• Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including market analysis, technology assessment, and team evaluation
• Prepare investment memos, pitch decks, and term sheets
• Present investment opportunities to partners and investment committees
• Negotiate and structure deals, working with lawyers, accountants, and other advisors

Portfolio Management

• Provide strategic guidance and operational assistance to portfolio companies
• Monitor portfolio company performance and identify potential issues or risks
• Serve as a board member or observer for select portfolio companies
• Help portfolio companies overcome challenges and execute growth projects

Firm Development

• Contribute to the firm's overall strategy and internal operations
• Represent the firm at conferences, meetups, and industry events
• Collaborate with other team members and mentor staff

Qualifications

Required

• 2-4 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, or a venture-backed startup company
• Strong financial analysis skills, including proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead deals and work independently

Preferred

• Track record of successful investments or exits
• Deep knowledge of specific industry sectors or technologies
• Experience as a founder or early employee in a high-growth startup
