Right now, the best jobs are limited to people in a handful of the world’s wealthiest cities, yet brilliant people are everywhere. Driven to overturn the status quo and distribute opportunities equally around the world, Oyster launched its global employment platform to help companies hire, pay, and care for talent anywhere.
When it comes to global employment, we walk the walk. We’re proof that companies don't need an office to create a highly-engaged culture. Since the company’s inception in January 2020, Oyster has:
Our momentum speaks to the power of global employment—and we’re just getting started! If you want to change the world with Oyster and be empowered to work remotely while doing so, we’d love for you to apply!
Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. The person in this role needs to be located within UTC + / - 6 hrs.
You will be joining our People Services team as an International HRBP, supporting our team members and customers across your allocated countries (US & UK). With your customer-focused outlook and your ability to solve even the most complex HR matter, you will make our customers wish that they had our HR for all their matters, even beyond distributed workers!
This is 6 month fixed-term employment contract.
What you'll do…
Manage Complex ER Matters: With human-centricity and risk mitigation at the forefront, you will autonomously navigate, manage, and resolve complex ER matters. This could include conducting investigations, managing disciplinaries, and leading terminations. This will also include matters related to both performance and behaviors.
Cross-functional Partnership: You will partner across Oyster, including with our Legal team, Business Units, and Revenue teams. Additionally, as a customer-facing HRBP, you will work closely with our customers in delivering solutions and providing practical guidance.
Team Collaboration: You will work closely with your fellow HRBPs & HR Advisors, whether partnering on projects or supporting one another with case management or country cover. We’re a super collaborative team, so there will be plenty of opportunities to explore new countries, jump into projects, or work together on a BAU initiative.
HR Information & Knowledge: You will provide guidance and advice on HR topics that cannot be resolved by our first-line teams. You will also draft and quality-check country-specific information on a wide range of HR topics, and will seek opportunities to proactively improve country-specific HR information. You will also distil your knowledge to several audiences - whether providing training for internal Oysters to increase their knowledge, working with teams to problem-solve country-specific issues, or joining customer calls when there are country-specific HR queries.
Project Ownership & Support: You will actively contribute to People Services projects and cross-team projects as we work towards our Mission to enable companies to hire anyone, anywhere!
