Job Overview

We are seeking a Head of Marketing who is excited about the opportunity to lead the growth and development of our California-based venture-backed digital health tech D2C company.

As the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that increase market share, build a high-value brand, and drive growth for our company. You will be in charge of building and growing the content, performance, and brand sides of the business and will lead the launch of new products and design and execute initiatives to acquire, retain, engage, and monetize customers.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for content creation, brand building, acquisition-based marketing, demand generation, copywriting, data analysis, and growth loop designs. They should have experience with FMCG / eCommerce / direct-to-consumer marketing and have a strong understanding of brand strategy development and execution.

The Head of Marketing should have excellent leadership, team-building, hiring, and organizational skills, as well as be comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, and processing figures with spreadsheets.


  • Crafting and curating marketing messages cohesively through paid and owned channels, as well as specific messaging/communications throughout the consumer lifecycle/journey
  • Planning & executing campaigns and all consumer-facing touchpoints through a brand calendar and coordinating asset creation and deliverables
  • Go to Market planning, communications, and execution for brand launch and new product lines/offerings
  • Drive revenue through customer acquisition and retention efforts, while executing strategies
  • Responsible for budget creation, including department level, e-commerce forecasting/actualizing, paid media budget assumptions
  • Manage Public Relations Agency and strategy
  • Manage Performance Media Agency and strategy
  • Manage several consultants and part-time employees
  • Spearhead the execution of marketing tests, including test and control group segmentation, AB site testing/ tracking, results reporting, analyses, and recommendations
  • Oversee all aspects of social media marketing strategy, content creation/marketing, influencer relationships, affiliate programs, and partnerships


  • Must be willing to wear many hats and work in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Extremely self-sufficient and independent
  • Tech-savvy
  • Experience and comfort running a remote team of employees, agencies, and consultants
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • High competence in project and stakeholder management
